ICV spokesman Shereen Hassan doesnt know what she is talking about, otherwise she wouldnt say Mecca as an example. Because we all know that Mecca was never a fertile land and it was known to be a dry place throughout the history. If she had studied the history of the prophet(sas) she would have know that Mecca was a dry place and Medina was more fertile land.
Also, before she lectures to the shaykh about preserving water, she should come and listen to the shaykh's Fiqh class, in one of those classes, he practically showed to the people how to make wudhu without wasting water.
Every one knows that our shaykh always tell people not to waste water while he is in the wudhu room
she should go and learn the history of the prophet(sas) to understand that Mecca had been a place of commerce and Medina had been a place of cultivation. Also she should understand that Allah(swt) had fulfilled His Promise to Ibrahim(AS) when he made the dhua for Mecca. Today, there is no fruit which is produced in this world which is not available in Mecca
It is riduculous to say Mecca as an example because you dont say that there is plenty of water in Nile river when people say there is no water available here. Because we all know that Mecca had already been the dryest place throughout the history and the fact is that even in that land, Allah(swt) Willed for the Zam Zam spring and it exists even today after 1400 years
